Rock, Paper, Scissors

Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to tour the Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper exhibit at the Frick Museum in Pittsburgh’s East End. As I toured the exhibit, I couldn’t help thinking about the iconic “Rock, Paper, Scissors” game that we used to play as children.

The reason this childhood game came to mind was that it reminded me of the “power of paper” (covers rock) in the game.

In her work, de Borchgrave has taken the power of paper to an entirely new level. While the exhibit at the Frick has concluded its run, you can learn more about this exhibit here --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw7wYL5UI5M

And, if you’d like to learn more about the artist here’s the link to her personal website.
